September Favourites 2015!

Hi everyone!

So I have had a little bit of free time today, amidst my crazy study timetable, so I thought I would write a blog post on what I have been loving this september (although it is now october...whoops!).
I also realised that I did make a youtube video on my favourites for this month, however, I didn't write a blog post about it. Now I often find it is sometimes better to read about someones review on products rather than listen to them talk about it in videos or in real-life (and between you and me, I get sick of my own voice very quickly!)

Anyways, I have taken photos of my products to make this virtual review a bit more interesting!
                                                 1.  Revlon Colourstay Concealer

Ok, so my first product is the Revlon Colourstay concealer (and for me it is in the shade 03 Light medium, however, I should have got the shade lighter). This concealer is amazing for those who are just starting off there makeup collection, or for those who are slightly embarrassed about the blemishes on their face (don't worry, you're not the only one!) and want to conceal them, as it has high coverage but is not to dense, so it isn't obvious if you're going for a natural look and it lets your skin breathe. The applicator kinda looks like a lipgloss applicator (in my opinion) and so it is very easy for to apply, and even easier to blend! Make sure that you get the concealer that best matches your skin tone though! I often find that getting two concealers is better, one that is slightly lighter than your skin tone for under your eyes, to make them look more awake, and a concealer that is basically your skin tone, just for any other blemishes you want to cover up (but don't feel the need to cover you're skin in makeup just to fit in, you're perfect the way you are!). You can buy this in any drugstore (I think) and it can range from many different prices, depending one where you are purchasing it from. However, if you are on a budget, I would definitely recommend taking a look at this product!

2. Muji Foundation (Natural)

This is a very unique foundation, and I believe you can only get it in south-east Asia, however, this is an amazing foundation and it is sooooo good at blending I can't express how much I love it! The dispenser is a little different to any foundations I have seen previously, as it hasn't got a pump, like normal foundations, but it has, what could be described as, more of a pen-like dispenser. So can apply it to your face in what ever way your wish! The bottle is also very small, so it is perfect to have in a travel bag or your normal handbag!
For people just starting to use makeup, or just starting there collection, I wouldn't recommend using foundation at all, however, if you are able to get your hands on this, then you will find it a lot easier to learn how use foundation properly. This is because it is very lightweight on the skin, it gives a more subtle look, and it is super easy to blend into the skin without looking to 'caked-on', where as high-end foundations are usually a little harder to blend and take more time and effort, as well as leaving a more dense look.
The best bit about this foundation though, is that it isn't expensive...at all! For such a good foundation it is priced amazingly!
The only thing that is a slight downhill to the foundation is that it doesn't last as long as I would like, especially if I have to wear it for the full day!

3. Sephora 8-hour mattifying pressed powder (21: Claire light)

Sephora's 8hr mattifying pressed powder is a great powder to use if you want a nice, matte finish to your makeup. It helps keep everything set, like your concealer and foundation, and has amazing coverage! It is fairly compact, and is great for travelling (especially if you're going to a hot country!). This product also gives a slight tan to the skin, no matter what shade you select! However, make sure you tap off your powder brush BEFORE applying it to your face! As even the slightest bit can make your face look too smothered in makeup - so you only need a dab of this powder on your brush before putting it on your skin! This product is also fairly pricey, as it is a high-end brand, so bare that in mind when looking for powders! If you are only just beginning to use makeup, I would suggest looking at other possible options in drugstores, however, if you are a continuer in makeup and are looking for something new, I would definitely recommend buying this powder (as it also lasts forever).

4. NYX felt eyeliner

My NYX felt eyeliner is in the colour 01 Extreme Black (so it is the first in that collection!) and my mum actually purchased it for me, so I'm not too sure how much it was, but I think she bought it in a drugstore so it wasn't too expensive. This is a really great eyeliner, as it literally is like a pen; it has a long applicator so that it is easier to control, and it glides very easily over the eyelid! It does take a bit of practice to get used to using it, but I would definitely recommend this if your looking for something that can quickly draw on beautiful cat flicks, or if you just want a thinker line than a usual eyeliner. The only problem with this eyeliner is that if you make a mistake, it takes quite a lot of effort to remove and it also takes quite a while to dry, so bare that in mind!

5. Burt's Bees Lip balm (Pink blossom)

You can't go wrong with a handy Burt's Bees lip balm!! This one is extra special as it is tinted! It is a very rosy colour and could probably be described as quite a nude tone, however it is amazing and works a treat when you have chapped lips! I love putting this on before any lipsticks, as it makes it a lot easier to apply the lipstick and it ensures that your lips stay moisturised no matter what! This lip balm is great to keep in your handbag as it is small and handy! As well as it being pretty much amazing, it's not that expensive either! But I bought mine in sephora, not in a drugstore, so I'm not sure where else you can purchase it!

6. Revlon Colourburst Matte balme

This product is from Revlon and it is the Colourburst matte balm  in the shade 254 Audacious. This shade is quite orangey-red and I think you have to be quite confident to actually wear it, but I love this product, as it applies amazingly, it doesn't leave your lips feeling dry and there is such a good variety of colours to choose from! An extra bonus is that it is infused with a triple butter complex of shea, mango and coconut butter!
Now, I'm not too sure how much this was, as my close friend Simren gave it to me, However Revlon is quite a high-end brand, so I wouldn't expect it to be that cheap. However, you can purchase it in drugstores!

7. Sunsilk Nourishing smooth & silk SPRAY

The sunksilk Nourishing smooth & silk spray is perfect for those days when your hair is halfway between clean and greasy and you know that if you wash your hair it would be too silky to do anything with, but if you leave it it'll just become to greasy to function. With the spray, all you do is spritz some onto your hair, style and go! It actually leaves you hair feeling healthy, shiny and smooth! (and tbh, who doesn't want that!?). I believe you can only get this in South-east Asia, but I may be completely wrong!! And the pricing is mid-way between cheap and expensive. The only thing that annoys me is that it runs out to quickly!! However, that's probably because I just spray it like there is no tomorrow!

8. Nivea double effect roll-on (Violent senses)

There isn't really very much to say on this product except from it's amazing and doesn't hurt/sting the underarms and it is really convenient to carry around wherever you want! In my opinion I think that roll-on deodorants are better as they don't spray around chemicals and the don't affect anyone else except you!
This product also lasts forever!! I don't believe this deodorant is too expensive, however it does depend on where you live

9. Victoria Secret perfume (Coconut Passion)

Finally, my favourite product of all! The Victoria Secret Coconut Passion (vanilla & coconut) perfume spray! This sweet, aromatic fragrance is to die for and is definitely one to add to your christmas/birthday list!! I'm going to be honest and say that this is not cheap, so you better start saving those pennies!
Now, I know for some people this scent is a little bit too sweet (as many have described, including myself, as smelling like chocolate!) and it isn't small so you can't really take this on your travels, however it is divine and I definitely recommend that you try it! Almost everyone that I recommend it to purchase it!!
Another note to put out there of why I love this so much is because I just think the packaging is sooooo pretty! I love the floral print on the back of the perfume!

Ok, so that is my September favourites of 2015 complete! This blog post is a little bit more detailed and informative than my youtube video (if you haven't seen that click here!) so that you get a better understanding of why I love all of these products this month!

I hope you found this post interesting! Love you all lots!

I'll write again soon!

The holidays are in sight...

Hi everyone!

Yes, I am alive...no I did not forget about you.

I have been crazy busy lately and I have had almost no free time to myself! However, I have one more day of school then... FREEDOM!!! (for two weeks)

Now, any normal person would be really ecstatic as it means holiday time and sleep time. But not for me. Ohhh no. not for moi. This is because as soon as the holidays end, I have my IGCSE exams!! I'm so nervous!! So my entire social life and any life that I thought I had will then go out the window as I shall be studying my life away. YAY.

Along with that, as I have mentioned in my recent video (click here to watch it!), I am temporarily stopping youtube and any other social media accounts that I have. don't panic! I may still post on my blog! (but I wouldn't count on it!)

Anyways, as you can see, I'm really looking forward to these next few weeks.

I thought I would just let you know incase you ever wondered!

ok bye guys!

I'll write again soon!

busy week!

Hi everyone!

I'm sorry that I haven't been able to post every day this week, but it's because I've been soooo busy with school! I just finished my mock exams so there is A LOT of school work that everyone has to catch up with!

I have also been deciding my future at school. what I'm doing for work experience and whether I'm doing HSC (New South Wales High School Certificate) or IBDP (International baccalaureate Diploma Programme). It has been tough decisions and it's even scarier when you know that what ever choices you make influence the rest of your life! I've been super stressed out.

On another note, my little brother just made me this necklace:

it's a choker made out of paperclips! Very creative haha!

Anyways, I have to finish my work now!

I'll write again soon!

Beep test & cookies!

Hi everyone!

sorry I didn't post yesterday- I was busy with school work so I never ended up finding the time! (whoops!)

Yesterday was just an average day.
However, every afternoon, for two hours on a monday we have sport (P.E.). Now don't get me wrong, I love sport. I may not be the best at it but I do find it really fun. The only times I really hate sport is when we do "fitness testing". Fitness testing it basically another way of saying "you're going to work out harder than you ever have before until your lungs and heart almost explode and your legs ache for the rest of the week". Believe me, it's not fun.

So yesterday afternoon, as you have probably guessed, we did fitness testing. Actually, we had already done most fitness testing, like push-ups, sit-ups etc. but yesterday we had to do something called 'The Beep Test'. The beep test, in all honesty, is the devils worst creation. It's very hard to explain what it is but lets just say it tests your cardiovascular strength! (running a lot).
So that was horrible.

But, when I arrived home, me and my younger brother made cookies! Unfortunately I did not film it but if you would like, I can possibly do video on it!

(this is what I wish our cookies turned out like!)

sorry for such a short post but I'm very tired!

I'll write again soon!

Scrumptious Sunday!

Hi everyone!

I spent this entire morning editing and filming videos! However, the video I filmed was so much fun as I made healthy, vegan flapjacks! They were nut-free and sugar-free (which didn't make them as sweet as my sweet-tooth would've liked!) but they were soooo tasty and I would definitely recommend making them! click here to see how to make them!

Anyways, this evening me and my mum went down to an Epicurean Market! It was really interesting but so busy and crowded that half of the stalls had thirty minute lines so we didn't stay there for too long. Afterwards, we went out for an Italian before having to head home and do homework (however I am procrastinating slightly by writing a blog post!)

So goodnight everyone, I shall write again soon!

I very much dislike mornings...

Hi everyone!

Have I ever mentioned that very much dislike mornings? And not just mornings where you have to wake up extra early for school or work, but just mornings in general. I firstly hate waking up to the feeling of a dry and very bloated face (probably from water retention in the body) and then having to wash that face, which then brings out all of the blemishes on the face which had been slowly covered up during the night. The second thing I very much dislike is getting changed out of your cosy, warm pyjamas into normal clothes. The transition between the different clothes could possibly be described as the worst part of the morning. The immediate change from the feelings of comfort, warmth and relaxation to ridiculously cold, uncomfortable and generally unhappy is actually crazy. And I hate it. I also don't like having to brush my teeth, and then being pressured by everyone to eat, like no. Eating straight after using minty toothpaste is the worst. It makes everything you eat taste minty and takes away the nice, fresh breathe that you just had. Finally I just dislike the negative vibes that everyone gives off in the mornings. Everyone is groggy. Everyone is tired. It's inevitable. So incase you didn't know, I do not like Mornings. at. all.

I don't think I will ever be a morning person.

[RANT OVER]

Anyways, the relation of that rant to anything else in this post is that I did have to wake up early this morning. I woke up and feel asleep 3 times before actually getting out of bed! However, it was because I have gymnastics every saturday morning and my younger brother has his football at the same location. So, before I go to gymnastics, I have to get a taxi at 8:30 am every single saturday morning with my mum and brother and sit for two hours watching him play football. It is not fun.
As well as that, it is always scorching hot. I mean, for many, the heat may be a blessing-but for me? not so much.

Anyways, my day brightened up after gymnastics, and I actually felt more awake and energised (logic is amazing) and now I'm just sitting here editing a video (coming soon!) and writing this post!

Well, that's all that happened today! maybe your day was more productive.

I'll write again soon!

Hi everyone! Welcome to Giselle's Chatterblog!

Hi everyone!

I have finally created my first ever blog! yay! I have always had the intention to create my own blog since 2013, as I love writing and expressing myself with words. However, when I began to film videos for my youtube channel (Giselle's chatterbox), I had the perfect opportunity to create a blog, and so I did! I know that having a blog is very common, especially with youtubers, but I knew that I should never waste a chance to write.
Anyways, enough with all this cheesy talk! Let me introduce myself so you know exactly who the person behind the screen is!

My name is Giselle Greulich-smith. I am a British girl and I have lived in Britain for almost all of my life. The past three years of my life, however, have been spent living in South-east Asia. Although it is different over here in comparison to England, it's still so amazing and culturally diverse. My homesickness does get the better of me at times.

I love to sing, do gymnastics and dance! I have been doing gymnastics and dancing since the age of four and I've been singing since....forever? But definitely not professionally!

On another note, I have two siblings, whom of which are both boys, so I am the only girl in the family - excepting my mum, of course, and I am the middle child; this often equals in the youngest and the eldest playing pranks on me! But, we all get along really well and I cannot think of what my life would be like without them!
I also have two naughty-but-adorable cats (if you have seen my youtube channel and seen a few of my videos, I do mention my cats quite often!) that are called Minx and Jade.  They are from time to time very troublesome but they are mostly fun, loving (could be argued) and ADORABLE!

So in the end, if you haven't already gathered, I am a little bit more on the quirky side - but I think thats ok! I want to use my blog as a way to write entertaining stories that make you laugh until you cry, but I also want to give as much advice about different things in life that may help you all and could possibly help you avoid mistakes that I have once made! And last of all be a bit more "girly" as it could be described (although I think it shouldn't be stereotyped!), and talk about fashion, makeup, food/cooking and music! I do this and much more on my youtube channel, but how much more fun and relaxing life is when you can just sit down and read!

Love you guys lots!

I will write again soon!

P.S. sorry for my very cheesy first blog post!
